When I get into production mode, one of the things I do sometimes is create remixes of songs I’m into. I’ve been listening to the Solange album, and the song “Almeda” on the “unwavering” nature of black faith resonates. It contains some deep references, chopped and screwed and refined, and features Playboi Carti, one of the more interesting voices in modern rap. The-Dream and Young Metro are also present. I had to do it. I’m very interested in the cacophony and extra musical elements, but I also had a desire to make this already powerful song bounce a little.
